High School Prep offers rigorous academics combined with community service, sports and artistic endeavors in order to educate the whole child.

Students in High School Prep are well prepared for their transition into some of the top private and independent high schools in the Baltimore and Washington, DC area. Our exceptional academic program, together with our unique music program where all students play an instrument, have resulted in multiple scholarship offers from local high schools.

High School Prep students thrive amidst academic rigor and grow in independence and self-esteem. Our academic program is comprehensive and challenging, featuring:

• Honors courses are offered in Pre-Algebra for 7th grade students and Algebra 1 for 8th grade students along with advanced Independent Study in select grade levels. 

• Encouragement to continually to express themselves, literally and creatively, through written and verbal skills. They are taught the appropriate use of grammar, punctuation, grade-level vocabulary, and proper sentence and paragraph structure. 

• A hands-on approach where students are actively involving in the learning process through the use of inquiry-based activities that bring to life the scientific-thinking process in units of biology, chemistry, physics, geology, and environmental science. 

• A unique music program where all our students are required to play a musical instrument and be part of one of five different bands: Cadet Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Band. 

• Graduates who are offered approximately a quarter million dollars of merit and music scholarships on a yearly basis.
