The synergy at The Primary School was amazing! Our Museum Study of Spain was an extraordinary experience for adults and children. In particular, we were excited to see students apply strengths and demonstrate interests in new ways.
During the Museum Study children presented passports as they moved through various exhibits. After learning about the Festival de Pilar from Zaragoza, First Graders made masks and sang in Spanish for a fun parade. Second Grade focused on popular Spanish sports and games. Third Grade researched and shared information about cities, landmarks and daily life. Fourth Grade studied Medieval Spain. Dance, music, and PowerPoints complemented amazing castles they constructed.
Stained glass, a Miro-inspired mural, maps galore, a raffle of a beloved children’s book, a Spanish prayer, and more, made the Museum come alive. Children enjoyed tasting Chicken Paella, and a beautiful demonstration of Flamenco.
Through the interdisplinary study of Spain, academic and collaborative skills were strengthened. We are proud of our children and their outstanding work!
