Holy Trinity provides a setting that fosters opportunities for the total development of each child. We believe that physical fitness is a vital component of the growth of our students. All preschool to eighth grade students experience a wide variety of age-appropriate developmental physical skills and activities.
The program is divided into units of work focused on seasonal sports and exercise. This includes instruction in the areas of physical fitness, knowledge, skills and sportsmanship, with special emphasis being placed on group participation and concepts that promote conflict resolution, honesty, and compromise. Through instruction, effort, and assessment, students participate in developmental lessons that flow from one class experience to the next. Throughout the entire academic year, students transition from one activity to the next, reusing and learning new skills and concepts at progressively higher levels of performance.
Holy Trinity’s physical education program educates the students in how to learn and to appreciate their own strengths as well as the those of others, giving them the confidence to improve on their weaker points. It is through this process that we strive to meet our goal of developing a physically and mentally strong individual who enjoys the benefits of a healthy and fit lifestyle.
