Students entering kindergarten must be five years of age by September 1 of the entering school year.
Reading/Writing: strong phonics-based letter and sound recognition, thinking, speaking, listening, emergent literacy, phonemic awareness, comprehension, decoding, reading strategies, language and prewriting skills
Mathematics: sorting, classifying, directional concepts, patterning, one-to-one correspondence, numbers, counting, introduction to geometry, time, addition/subtraction and fractions, identification of money, emphasis on graphing and estimation
Science: classifies living/non living, growth and change of living things, experiments, physical earth, health and body
Social Studies: family, community, state, country, America’s beginnings, citizenship, transportation, holidays
Art: colors, creativity, patterns, mediums
Technology: software to support learned skills
Fine motor skills: manipulatives, drawing, writing, painting, using small utensils
Gross motor skills: skipping, kicking, catching, throwing, balancing, running
Morals and values Daily prayers Weekly chapel: moral/values, Bible stories, and singing Social and Emotional Development
Self-help skills Cooperation with adults and peers Problem solving Self control
