Age Requirements: 5 years of age by September 1

Kindergarten Curriculum

Reading/Writing: strong phonics-based letter and sound recognition, thinking, speaking, listening, emergent literacy, phonemic awareness, comprehension, decoding, reading strategies, language and prewriting skills

Mathematics: sorting, classifying, directional concepts, patterning, one-to-one correspondence, numbers, counting, introduction to geometry, time, fractions, addition/subtraction, identification of money, graphing and estimation

Science: classifies living/non living, growth and change of living things, experiments, physical earth, health and body

Social Studies: family, community, state, country, America's beginnings, citizenship, transportation, holidays

Art: colors, creativity, patterns, mediums

Technology: software to support learned skills

Physical Development: Fine motor skills (manipulatives, drawing, writing, painting, using small utensils) and Gross motor skills (skipping, kicking, catching, throwing, balancing, running)

Spiritual Development: Daily prayers, weekly chapel, Bible stories

Social and Emotional Development: self-help skills, cooperation with adults and peers, problem solving, and self control
