Why Choose Holy Trinity?

Our goals are to build the confidence, integrity, and love of learning that will prepare young individuals for a changing world and endow each with a profound sense of respect and responsibility for themselves and the community. An accomplished and committed faculty encourages students from diverse backgrounds to cultivate that which is unique in each of them. Rigorous programs in academics, the arts, athletics, and significant opportunities for leadership growth are provided for all students to develop their fullest  potential.

Marcy Cathey, Head of School, 2005 to present:

"These are just a few examples of the vibrant, engaged teaching at Holy Trinity. Education is about more than memorizing facts and figures or regurgitating the formulae and answers. Education at Holy Trinity is about connecting, interacting and, in most cases, it's about joy. Holy Trinity is all about the joy of learning, of gaining understanding at every age. It is about being able to make relationships in the academic material as well as forming relationships with peers, faculty, and staff. Our triangle of 'Faith, Arts, & Knowledge'  embraces the mind, body, and spirit of our students throughout the Holy Trinity curriculum, from the Discovery program for our three-year-olds to our Eighth grade students. This balanced education provides our students with the tools they need to be successful in high school, and more importantly to be successful people. It is here at Holy Trinity that we give our students 'Roots to Grow, Wings to Fly!'"

Ms. Helen Faye Schneider,  Assistant Teacher, 1972 to present:

"After teaching at Holy Trinity for 34 years, it has become my second home and the people I work with have became my family. Our work shows on the faces of all the children that come here. It's nice when kids in the preschool program come back and visit me and they remember what I did for them when they were little that made a big difference in their lives. I still keep in touch with many children. It's still fun for me to come to work everyday where I can be myself with the kids."

Rosalyn Cruz-Williams,  Director of Admissions, 2004 to present:

"My husband and I chose Holy Trinity Episcopal Day School for our children eight years ago for the faith, knowledge and arts philosophy it offers.  Holy Trinity teachers ensure that each student, Pre-K through eighth grade is successful and happy from the start.

The school treats students as individuals, and offers a sense of community, spiritual awareness, and importance of giving to others.”

Patrice Ficklin,  mother of John Alexander '07 and Austin W. Ficklin '11

“Holy Trinity achieves big things.  Our children are nurtured in an environment where every child feels special and is encouraged to reach his or her full potential.  Holy Trinity ensures that our children are firmly rooted in basic values such as responsibility, compassion, and love.  These values, instilled early, will serve them well over their lifetimes.  Yet, our children also are challenged to grow and develop in big ways.  Our academics are top-notch, and year after year, Holy Trinity graduates leave for successful tenures at top high schools in the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore metropolitan areas.  Our students are blessed with a rich arts program that encourages creative expression through various media and ensures that every graduate is proficient at reading music and in playing a band instrument.   The Holy Trinity experience balances a community spirit with a world view.”
